Aims & Objectives
Our policy is to provide quality care for children in a warm,caring and
stimulating enviroment where the parents feel that their child is being looked after and their
indivdual needs are being taken into acount and catered for.
A good relationship between staff,parents and children is promoted and encouraged.
Staffing levels are determined by the Care Commission and are adhered to by Step
By Step Nurseries to enhance the development and maintain the well being of your
child.
Role of Owner
As the owner of Step by Step Nurseries and an active
working member of the team, I am able to ensure a high quality of care
is maintained for your child. I am available to discuss any aspect of
your child's care with you.
Hours of Opening
The normal hours in which care can be offered for your child by Step By Step is as follows.
- Morning 07:30 until 12:30
- Afternoon 12:30 until 18:00
- Full day 07:30 until 18:00
We are open for 51 weeks and are closed 1
week over Christmas and New Year.
Introduction & Settling In
Parents are encouraged to accompany their child on visits to the nursey prior to the start of the
placement. Both parents and children are encouraged to meet staff and other children to
promte and establish good relationships
It is preferred that a family member who is known to the Nursery staff collects
a child. If this is not possible, poarents should make arrengements with the Nursery
staff to discuss who will collect their child. THE NURSERY MUST BE VACATED BY
18:00 TO COMPLY WITH INSURANCE AND CARE COMMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
Children who are ill should not be brought to Nursery. Children who are ill will not be permitted to remain in the Nursery.
Any child who becomes ill during the course of the day shall remain in the Nursery until his/her parent can be contacted and asked to make arrangements
for their child to be collected as soon as reasonably possible.
Change of Clothing
Parents are asked to supply a bag clearly marked with their childs name containing the following:
- a pair of slippers or soft indoor shoes ('wellies' can be left for wet and snowy weather)
- a complete change of clothing
- an outdoor jacket
- hair brush and comb (toothbrushes are supplied by the Nursery)
